National and Chapter Programs
Upsilon Nu Zeta is committed to fulfilling the legacy of the Founders of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. by working diligently to impact the community through various national and local programming initiatives.
Stork's Nest - Since 1972, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has enjoyed a partnership with the March of Dimes in an effort to encourage women to seek prenatal care within the first trimester of pregnancy; thereby increasing the prevention of birth defects and infant mortality. Nationwide, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority sponsors over 175 Stork's Nests. Last year, the Stork's Nest program served over 28,000 women.
Z-HOPE is an outreach service program that has six primary objectives, corresponding measures of success and a mechanism for chapter recognition. The primary objectives are:
- To provide culturally appropriate informational activities according to the Z-HOPE program format
- To foster collaborative partnerships between community organizations with shared goals
- To promote the opportunities for expansion in Stork's Nest programs
- To facilitate community service and mentorship opportunities for members of the organization
- To provide an equitable chapter recognition program for community services rendered
- To provide a standard reporting format to concentrate efforts and demonstrate the organization's impact

Local Chapter Initiatives: Labor of Love - In addition to participating in national Zeta programs, Upsilon Nu Zeta has instituted "Labor of Love" under the new chapter administration. Labor of Love allows chapter members to serve the community in many ways. Through this initiative the chapter has made and donated sandwiches to the hungry, made an effort to keep the Best Southwest clean through monthly cleanings of the chapter's Adopt-a-Spot, and donated items and children's books to the less fortunate.
Upsilon Nu Zeta also mentors young ladies and provides opportunities for educational and personal growth through youth auxiliary groups. Each year the chapter awards scholarships to worthy high school seniors.
Upsilon Nu Zeta also supports the March of Dimes by participating in March for Babies and the American Cancer Society by participating in Relay for Life.
